A COMM-ADORE CHRISTMAS IS HERE

Commodore had a Christmas demo in 1982. The wind, the snow, the logo, then the carols. A lot of us left it running through the whole holiday season.
This year, we made our own. And it's free.
How it starts
A black screen and the wind. Then single snowflakes of every size, slanting across the screen, a few big ones drifting close past the glass, falling faster as it goes. The Comm-Ad♥re logo fades in, and snow settles on top of the letters until it says Merry Christmas. Press a key, and the first picture fades in.

The carols
Fifteen scenes, each with its own song, played by the Compute!'s Gazette Sidplayer for that real 80s sound. We tried modern SID tunes first and they were very clever, but they didn't take us back. These do.

Outside scenes have snow, sixteen flakes at a time. Inside, the tree lights twinkle, the candles flicker and the fire burns. The night scenes have twinkling stars. When a song ends, the next picture fades in, and after the last one it starts all over again.

Get it
It's a D81 disk image for a real 64 with a Kung Fu Flash, SD2IEC, Ultimate or Pi1541, or for VICE. PAL or NTSC.
