The Commodore 64 adventure, rebuilt for the PC and for your web browser: the same realm, the same story and the same people, in a world of 3D blocks with a camera that follows you from above, or through the hero's own eyes.
Coming soon from Comm-Adore. For now it's being played by a very small group of testers.
The story
Long before the shadow stretched from the high peaks of the North, there was the Crown of Power, the sovereign heart of Hazelwood, through which the eight sacred pillars of the realm were held in perfect balance.
When the Dragon Lord Morvath first marched upon the kingdom with ash and iron, King Aldan the True saw that an undivided power could fall to a single blow. To preserve the realm, the King made the ultimate sacrifice: by ancient rite, the Crown was broken into eight sacred Shards and cast into the far corners of the land. Each piece was sealed within a hidden sanctuary, guarded by trials not merely of steel, but of spirit and virtue.
Deprived of a single prize, Morvath's conquest stalled. Yet without the Crown united, Hazelwood began to wither. The ancient forests grew twisted and dark, clean waters choked to mire, and fear turned neighbor against neighbor in the forgotten towns.
Now Morvath gathers his armies once more, sending foul creatures to unearth the Shards and corrupt the guardians who hold them.
Hazelwood calls for its hero. Not a conqueror seeking glory, but one worthy of the eight trials: to brave the wild, cleanse the fallen sanctuaries, and restore the Crown of Power before the northern winter consumes the realm forever.

What's different on the PC
Everything that makes the 64 game what it is, with room to grow:
- A world of blocks. Towns, forests, caves and castles in 3D, lit by the sun crossing the sky, torches, campfires and your own lamp. Day turns to night, rain and snow fall, fog closes in over the marsh.
- Your view, your choice. Watch from above, or press V to see through the hero's eyes and hunt the corners for secrets, under a sky of blocky clouds, a square sun by day and stars by night.
- Play together. Two players, each with their own hero, adventure in one world in their browsers: the guest brings their hero into the host's world, they fight side by side, share every kill's experience, and help each other up when one falls. And they can talk while they play, through a microphone and speakers or a headset.
- A map of the land and a help screen. Tab shows the land as it lies, region by region, with its towns and where you are; H shows every key.
- Places built in levels. Caves go down into deep seams and goblin tunnels, castles rise into towers and sink into dungeons, with hidden walls, rotten floors, pushed blocks and pressure plates.
- Arms and armour, Ultima style. Start with a rusty sword, a wooden shield and a leather cap; the smiths and armourers sell better as you go, up to plate and the legendary blades. Bows and four kinds of arrows, for hunting and for war.
- The C64's tunes and sounds, arranged for the PC: horns, strings and war drums on the title, a flute in the Vale, a lute in town.
- Play in a browser. No install: log in, and the game runs in the page. Your game is saved in your browser.

How to play
Press H in the game for all of this on screen.

- Walk: the arrow keys or WASD.
- Strike: Space. With the bow out, it shoots.
- Bow or sword: Q. Kind of arrow: R.
- Talk, open, use, sleep in a bed: E. Talking works as in Ultima: type a word and press Enter. NAME, JOB and BYE always work; words in gold are worth asking about; BUY and SELL at a shop, ROOM at an inn. Esc ends a talk.
- Your pack: I. Eat, wear, fill your lamp, and choose a tool or a spell. Use the chosen tool or spell: T.
- Journal: J, the tasks you've taken.
- The map of the land: Tab. It opens round where you are; the arrows look about, and Z shows the whole land.
- Save: F1, or sleep in a bed. Full screen: F11. Help: H.
- First person: V. Then the mouse looks around, W and S move, A and D step aside, and the mouse button strikes.
- Music: the - and = keys turn it down and up.

Playing together
- One of you presses P and hosts a game in your own world; the other presses P and joins it, bringing their hero.
- Your hero is yours: your gear, gold and experience go home with you. Anything you open or finish in the host's world counts there for both.
- The voice comes on by itself when you join: allow the microphone when your browser asks. M mutes you. The music stays quiet while you play together and dips when your partner talks.
- Down? Your partner stands by you and presses E to help you up.
